While passing by a coffee shop I noticed this wall with some pictures. what got me attracted to it was the variability of the pictures, it consisted of many shades of life such as the most obvious result of youngster’s love these days that is a broken heart or is it two pieces of heart coming together for the eternal unification ? London  eye acting as a lens to the city of joy and a mug with hot coffee in it ready to make someone’s start of the day a happening one.

A hidden treasure

-Castle lake

While on my road trip to Oregon from Bay area, I stopped by this beautiful lake. At first I didn’t know what it was but the beauty of it was so mesmerizing that I had to stop and explore. After talking to some of the people I found out that this is called Castle lake. And yes I didn’t searched on internet because my phone had no signal here.

I spent over a hour here and I wish I had more time. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Mount Shasta or going to Crater lake from California as a pit stop.

A Sea Shore

-Point Dume
-Malibu beach

I visited Malibu beach for the nth time couple of weeks ago but it was special this time as I was with her. Followed by a small hike to Point Dume, we sat on the beach. Waves touching our feet and cool breeze added to charm of this exquisite place. It felt peaceful away from the rat race. I think this is one of the best beaches in So Cal.

Lights, Colors and Celebration

-Dominion Garden Fest of lights

In December 2019, I had the opportunity to visit Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond, VA for the Dominion Garden Fest of lights.

It was a beautiful scenery where thousands of light bulbs of different shapes, sizes and color were used to create various figures. I found a great resemblance to the Indian festival of Diwali here.

A Spring in California

-California State University Northridge

While getting used to new normal, I have been trying to keep myself busy these days. Few days ago I took the opportunity to visit my college campus at California State University Northridge. I was greeting with this serene site where flowers bloomed and scented the whole campus. College days are considered to be one of the most fond memory for everyone and mine were no different. I still miss those classes, lectures, group assignments and above all amazing food on the campus. I hope and wish that everything soon get back to normal.

Sunday hike at Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area

After staying at home for long time due to pandemic, this past weekend we went to hike at Occoneechee Mountain State Natural area. It was a very good experience with amazing weather, soothing breeze and solitude. We felt active and calm at the same time. I would highly recommend this place for anyone in research triangle area.

Land beyond mountains

-Leh, India

This place has many laurels on its name. It has world’s highest battlefield, highest motor-able road in the world, highest airport in the world and much more.

But what I saw and experienced here is land far more peaceful and serene as compared to the outside world. Yes, I call our world as an outside world to the people here because they live in a beautiful cocoon free from rat race, hatred and above all pollution. They have formed a world of their own where people do not discriminate on the basis of caste, religion or wealth.

-Thikse Monastery, Leh, India

When I visited the Thikse and Shey monasteries here I realized, that we keep on running after materialistic things which will all be lost in the end and Monks here live such a simple yet joyful life.

Here mountains shine as made of iron and sunlight is so harsh that it can burn you hide in minutes yet you don’t feel the heat of life.

-Magnetic Hill, Leh, India

Magnetic hill not only pulls vehicle upward but also pulls all the negative energy away from you. It might be difficult here to walk long distance due to lack of oxygen yet it’s easy to make life’s journey.

-Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ

Moving forward in my journey to explore new places in this wonderful country of America, I visited Arizona State University in Tempe. I fell in love with its geographical location. It was peace in the environment and which is a catalyst for research work done by students. No wonder it is rated as one of the best in the country.

A Reflection

-Srinagar, India

I stand leaning on the side rail of Dal Lake in Srinagar and saw this masterpiece in front of me. It felt that nature wants to give me a message, a message so simple yet so powerful. We always try for something unreachable  whereas there is always an option to settle for something in our reach may be a little less but satisfactory.

Its in human nature to aim for the best but we can also be happy having the second best. It is just our mind we need to control and our aspirations we need to optimize.
